PJAK condemns the execution of political prisoners, calls for action to prevent inhumane practices

Political prisoners Babak Alipour, Pouya Ghobadi, Akbar (Shahrokh) Daneshvarkar, Mohammad Taghavi Sangdehi were executed by the Iranian regime in recent days on allegations of affiliation with banned opposition group, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI).

In a statement condemning the execution of political prisoners, the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) stated the Iranian regime resorts to attempts to silence the voices of political prisoners and violates all human rights while it is engulfed in an increasingly deepening war.

“In reality, this is a violation of human dignity and values that the ruling system Iran has committed for a long time. The banning of all activities in an oppressive system like the Islamic Republic of Iran amounts to a totalitarian dictatorship. The breath of freedom has been suppressed in Iranian society. The continuation of this oppression is dragging society into an endless war and the shedding of innocent blood. The silence of the international community in the face of such practices is unacceptable; it must strongly condemn the execution of political prisoners and the sentences imposed on them and prevent these repressive policies since this situation is a major obstacle to the freedom of the peoples of Iran.”

PJAK emphasized that this situation also poses a threat to the lives of other political prisoners, stating: “This constitutes a danger to the lives of all political prisoners from different components and nations across Iran. On this basis, we appeal to all political organizations, human rights institutions, Iranian society, and the international community: do not remain silent in the face of the threat of execution, and take the necessary steps to prevent these inhumane practices of the Iranian regime.”
