Thousands of people in the western Kurdistan city of Kobanê bid farewell to ten fallen fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). The burial took place at the Şehîd Dîcle Cemetery of Martyrs and was attended by relatives, representatives of the Autonomous Administration, and commanders from various military formations.

The fighters had fallen in recent weeks while defending the Autonomous Administration against the January offensive of the Syrian transitional government in various regions, including Deir ez-Zor, Sirrin, and Kobanê. Thousands of people accompanied the coffins to the cemetery and bid farewell to the c with slogans and flags of the Autonomous Administration.

In a speech, Eyşe Efendî from the “Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan” initiative stated that the legacy of the fallen initiative will be preserved and their struggle continued. At the same time, Abdi promised to preserve the legacy of the revolution. “Our goal is that children can speak their own language, receive education in their mother tongue, and live their Kurdish identity freely. We will also continue the struggle so that the rights of the Kurds are guaranteed in the Syrian constitution. We reaffirm our commitment to the path of the martyrs.”

At the end of the ceremony, the Council of Martyrs’ Families read out the biographies of the fighters and handed their documents to their relatives.
