Mazloum Abdi: We will follow in Salih Muslim’s footsteps

Mazloum Abdi, the General Commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), shared a condolence message on the digital platform X following the death of Kurdish politician and member of the PYD Co-Chair Council Salih Muslim, a pioneer of the Rojava Revolution.

In his message, Mazloum Abdi said: “We learned the news of the death of Salih Muslim, a member of the PYD Co-Chair Council, with great sorrow and pain. Bavê Welat (Salih Muslim) was the father of a martyr, a close friend, a great pioneer, a politician, and a valuable Kurdish patriot. For the past 40 years, Bavê Welat played a major role in the Kurdish people’s struggle for freedom and was arrested and exiled many times by the Baath Party. Bavê Welat also played a leading role in the revolution in Rojava Kurdistan. We will continue to follow in his path until the hopes of Bavê Welat, the martyr of the Kurdish cause, are realized. My condolences to his family, the PYD, and the Kurdish people.”
