The Co-Chairs of the Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party), Tülay Hatimoğulları and Tuncer Bakırhan, released a condolence message for Salih Muslim, a member of the PYD Co-Chair Council, who died.
In the message titled “Our condolences to the Kurdish people and the peoples of Rojava and Syria,” the following statements were included: “We learned with deep sorrow and grief the news of the passing of dear Salih Muslim, who had been receiving treatment for a serious illness in Erbil, in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
Salih Muslim was a valuable revolutionary who devoted his life to the Kurdish people’s struggle for freedom and was one of the contributors to the great resistance in Rojava against policies of denial and destruction. With the Rojava Revolution, he struggled with great dedication in every field for the equal, free, and dignified life of his people and stood by his people at every moment of his life.
In a life in which he paid extremely heavy and painful costs, Salih Muslim fought in every way for the peaceful, equal, and free life of the peoples of the region. Despite the pain of losing a child, he never once gave up speaking for peace and freedom, leaving us a great legacy with his honorable character. With his virtuous stance, dignity, and revolutionary character, he left a significant mark on history.
We once again express the deep pain we feel over the death of dear Salih Muslim and extend our condolences and patience to the Kurdish people and the peoples of Rojava and Syria, especially to his comrade in struggle and his wife Eyşe Efendî.”
