KCK: Women have become a social force taking action in the struggle for freedom and democracy

The Co-Presidency of the KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union) Executive Council released a statement on the occasion of March 8, International Working Women’s Day.

The KCK statement on Saturday includes the following:

“Since the beginning of the 20th century, March 8 has been celebrated as International Working Women’s Day all around the world. Today, March 8th, is the culmination of the expression of solidarity and the struggle for freedom of all women. Accordingly, we celebrate March 8 and respect and gratefully honor all women who have made March 8 such a great day of freedom.

All systems of exploitation and oppression began with women being turned into slaves and colonies by the caste-based murderer. Male domination over women has been the beginning of all evil. The intensification of oppression against women has increased exploitation and oppression throughout society. Capitalist modernity’s transformation of women into queens of commodities has brought society and humanity to the brink of destruction.

With their gaining awareness of this deep slavery and intensified oppression, women have become a social force taking action in the struggle for freedom and democracy. Becoming conscious of deep slavery and intensified oppression has unleashed a powerful revolutionary energy in women. With their demand for freedom and democracy growing stronger every March 8, women have now become a global revolutionary force intensifying their fight day by day. Today, the gender conflict has become the most comprehensive and deepest social conflict.

With Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan’s introduction of the ideology of women’s liberation in 1998, there was a leap forward in the struggle for women’s freedom. The rise of the struggle for freedom that began among Kurdish women quickly gained momentum for the development of the struggle for women’s freedom throughout the world. The women’s freedom struggle, which has gained an ideological-theoretical foundation, has become an invincible force. With this ideological and theoretical level, the women’s freedom struggle will continue to develop every day and will undoubtedly bring all humanity to a free and democratic life.

Today, women’s liberationist forces are raising the united struggle worldwide. They have become the strongest component of the communalist international struggle with the World Women’s Democratic Confederation. With their revolutionary energy, women will also play a leading role in the realization of a democratic socialist society.

In this day and age when capitalist modernity has created pessimism in humanity, women have become the hope of all humanity. The women’s freedom struggle is a revolutionary force that will burn away pessimism and all forms of darkness. In a process where the male-dominated capitalist modernist system tried to silence and neutralize all opposing forces, the women’s freedom struggle has become the vanguard of the struggle against the male-dominated system.

The effectiveness of the women’s freedom struggle has been seen in the ‘Jin Jiyan Azadî’ uprisings and in the rebellion shown by women with their braids. These struggles have quickly been embraced by women all over the world. In Chile in 2019, women’s dancing protests also quickly became an attitude embraced everywhere in the world.

The fact that violence against women has increased all over the world is an expression of the fear experienced by the male-dominated system in the face of the women’s freedom struggle. Attacks by individuals against women are an expression of the male-dominated system’s attitude towards the women’s freedom struggle in the form of individuals. Therefore, eliminating the pressure on women requires a struggle against the male-dominated system.

Right now, the Third World War centered on the Middle East is taking place. Wars are being legitimized and normalized under various pretexts. The capitalist modernist system is destroying nature as well as society. The source of all violence is the domination over women and the violence perpetrated against them. The root and source of wars are male domination over women. All forms of coercion and violence are created by the male-dominated mentality. Wars cannot be ended without eliminating domination and oppression over women. Therefore, advancing the struggle for women’s freedom will be decisive in ending wars. Those who do not want war must take their place in the struggle for women’s freedom. Since the source of wars is the male-dominated system, women have always been anti-war and defenders of peace. This is also an important dimension of the program of the struggle for women’s freedom.

At the same time, men are also slaves to the male-dominated system. It is the male-dominated system that corrupts men and makes them morally and ethically problematic. In this regard, all men must also participate in women’s struggle for freedom by creating a change in their own mindset in order to purify themselves of their own corruption and free themselves from slavery. One cannot be a socialist or a democrat without participating in the women’s freedom struggle. Developing the women’s freedom struggle is decisive for bringing the Kurdish people’s freedom struggle to success. Because the passion for freedom and the consciousness of democracy deepen with the women’s freedom line. This strengthens the struggle for freedom and democracy in every way and ensures its success.

Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan, who has made an unparalleled contribution to the women’s freedom struggle and has made great efforts to defeat the male-dominated system, has initiated the ‘Peace and Democratic Society Process,’ which will continue to greatly empower women’s freedom struggle. The aim is to create a free and democratic life in Kurdistan, Turkey, and the Middle East through peace and democratic society. The struggle for ‘Peace and Democratic Society’ is of great concern to women. When this process progresses in line with its intended purpose, our people, all peoples, and the women in particular will benefit. From this perspective, women should take the lead in the struggle for ‘Peace and Democratic Society,’ initiated by the greatest contributor to the women’s freedom struggle.

For the development of the ‘Peace and Democratic Society Process,’ it is crucial that Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan be free in his living and working conditions. In this regard, women should be at the forefront of the struggle for the physical freedom of Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan. An important goal of the struggle on this year’s March 8 should therefore be to free Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan. The freedom of Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan will initiate a period in which the struggle for women’s freedom will make strides not only in the Middle East but throughout the world. We believe that this March 8 will bring us closer to the freedom of Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan. We celebrate March 8, International Women’s Day, with women everywhere, and we enthusiastically salute women’s struggle to liberate all of humanity.”
