A delegation from the Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) will travel on Monday to the Turkish prison island of İmralı to hold talks with the Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan, according to the party sources on Sunday.
The İmralı Delegation of the DEM Party consists of the two Members of Parliament Pervin Buldan and Mithat Sancar, as well as lawyer Özgür Faik Erol from the Asrin Law Office in Istanbul. They most recently visited İmralı on January 17 and held a meeting with Öcalan.
During that meeting, the PKK founder reaffirmed his continued commitment to the perspectives he had developed in his call of February 27, 2025, which is regarded as a strategic concept for a sustainable peace process between the Kurdish movement and the Turkish state and for a political solution to the Kurdish question.
