Kobanê: 22 days under siege

Despite talks held to implement the agreement reached on 29 January between the Kobanê administration and delegations of the Syrian Interim Government, and announced on 30 January, Kobanê has remained under siege for 22 days.

Due to the siege, the humanitarian situation in Kobanê is steadily worsening. Medicines, baby formula, food, and basic needs have decreased significantly, while the living conditions of approximately 600,000 people, including displaced persons, are becoming more difficult day by day.

Yesterday, the Kobanê Electricity Authority repaired cables damaged by the attacks and restored service.

Despite the heavy siege, more than 200,000 forcibly displaced residents have been accommodated at 70 different locations in Kobanê.

The people of Kobanê continue their resistance against the siege, seeing it as the only way to protect their hard-won gains.
