Preparations for the Germany Newroz, which will be celebrated on March 21, 2026, in the city of Frankfurt, Germany, have been finalized. The organizing committee, which came together at the Frankfurt Democratic Kurdish Community Center, announced that the work related to Newroz has reached its final stage.
The preparation committee, formed under the leadership of the umbrella organizations in Germany—the Confederation of Democratic Kurdish Societies in Germany (KON-MED), the Kurdish Women’s Union of Germany (YJK-E), and the Federation of Democratic Kurdish Societies (FCDK-KAWA)—emphasized that the 2026 Germany Newroz will be a declaration of will for the national unity of the Kurdish people in the diaspora. It was also stated at the meeting that this year’s Newroz will be one in which the demand for the physical freedom of Abdullah Öcalan will be voiced strongly.
Committee members drew attention to the reality of the people resisting in Rojava and Rojhilat Kurdistan, stating that the spirit of resistance of modern-day Kawas, Bêrîvans, and Ronahîs will be reflected in the celebration. With a magnificent Newroz program, cultural motifs, melodies, and local richness from all four parts of Kurdistan will be presented to the public in Frankfurt.
Organizing committee member and Co-Chair of the FCDK-KAWA Federation Kerime Barçin, along with KON-MED Co-Chair Kerem Gök, shared detailed information with the public about the Newroz program, which will begin at 10:00 a.m. on March 21, 2026, at Rebstock Park.
