The Kurdish Women’s Movement in Europe (TJK-E) and the Congress of Democratic Societies of Kurdistan in Europe (KCDK-E) issued a joint statement regarding the march to be held on February 14 to mark the 27th anniversary of the international conspiracy of February 15, 1999, against Abdullah Öcalan.
The statement said: “February 15 was a conspiracy planned and carried out through a covert and dirty strategy on an international scale. International powers, regional reactionary forces and collaborators carried out this conspiracy to eliminate Abdullah Öcalan and the Kurdish freedom movement to redesign the Middle East.
For the sake of economic and political interests, the conspiracy of February 15 revealed how the United States, Russia and European states trampled on all democratic and humanitarian values. For this very reason, the conspiracy of February 15 was a crime committed against democracy, freedom, and all human values.”
The statement added: “Through Abdullah Öcalan, the future of the Kurdish people was sought to be darkened and destroyed. February 15 was equipped with the objective of Kurdish genocide. The attacks and annihilation plans being carried out in Rojava today openly demonstrate this.
As a continuation of the international conspiracy carried out on February 15, 1999, on January 5, 2026, barbaric remnants of ISIS launched an occupation attack against Rojava with the logistical support of the Turkish state. This wave of attacks, aimed at carrying out a Kurdish genocide, marked a new phase of the international conspiracy (the day in which Abdullah Öcalan was abducted in Kenya).
The international conspiracy, carried out with the knowledge of the United States, Europe and the rest of the world, sought to complete its objective by targeting Rojava, where Abdullah Öcalan’s ideas have taken shape. This international conspiracy, waged ruthlessly against our struggle and our people, has been met with strong resistance. Our people thwarted it by uniting around Öcalan and raising resistance.”
The statement continued: “The Rojava Revolution, the resistance in Kobanê and Shengal, and Abdullah Öcalan’s role in shaping developments played a decisive role in thwarting international conspiracy. For this reason, if the struggle continues, the conspiracy persists by reappearing in different forms. The attainment of Öcalan’s freedom will ensure that the conspiracy is dismantled in its entirety.
In this sense, the call for freedom for Abdullah Öcalan across the four parts of Kurdistan and Europe places a fundamental task to further elevate the struggle in the streets and squares, in both meaning and scope.
We must assert our will by persistently struggling to build a women-led way of life that forms the foundation of Abdullah Öcalan’s concept of the democratic nation, and to end all forms of oppression imposed on women by reactionary systems and capitalist modernity. Embracing Öcalan, who has made a major contribution to the Kurdish women’s struggle for liberation, is of vital importance. For this reason, we must raise our voices even more strongly for women’s freedom around the slogan “Jin, Jiyan, Azadî” (Women, Life, Freedom).”
The statement underlined that “the struggle to defend Rojava has brought our people together as one body from all four parts of Kurdistan. Our people have turned the streets into a single Kurdistan. Through the slogans they raised, they shattered the imposed fragmentation forced upon us. By embracing Rojava, they have in fact delivered a clear message of unity against international conspiracy.
Öcalan has cultivated the greatest resistance against the system of torture through his democratic, ecological and women’s liberationist paradigm, nurturing hope and belief that another world is possible for humanity. Öcalan influences society through his presence and ideas by remaining integrated with society. The women’s revolution in Rojava and the slogan “Jin, Jiyan, Azadî”, which has spread from Eastern Kurdistan (Rojhilat) to the world, demonstrates this.
To win this century, Abdullah Öcalan must be physically free, and for this we must expand the struggle in every field. On this basis, the TJK-E and the KCDK-E call on our people and friends living in Europe to mobilize for the march to be held on February 14 in Strasbourg, France, for Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan and Status for Rojava.”
