The Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) issued a statement to mark the 11th anniversary of the liberation of Kobanê.
PJAK’s statement read as follows: “The resistance and revolutionary struggle in Kobanê unfolded as a Revolutionary People’s War and became a historic turning point. The darkness of ISIS, with the support of all regional powers including Turkey, launched attacks aimed at destroying and massacring the Kurdish people. Undoubtedly, had it not been for the Kurdish resistance that developed on the basis of national and democratic unity, the whole of Rojava Kurdistan would have faced massacre.
For the Kurds to be saved from massacre and hostile occupation, there is a need for historic examples of resistance such as Kobanê.
Our call to all segments of our people across the four parts of Kurdistan is this: today, protect the national and democratic unity that has emerged to defend Rojava against the Syrian interim government.
The resistance struggle in Rojava will achieve victory through unity and struggle, and the people of Kobanê will always remain dignified and resistant.”
