The Platform for Solidarity with the Peoples of Kurdistan organized a demonstration in Lisbon which ended at the building of the European Commission Representation (Centro Europeu Jean Monnet).
In this protest, the presence of people from diverse political backgrounds was clear. People chanted slogans in support of Rojava in English, Kurdish and Portuguese. During the demonstration and at its end, various statements were read which explained the situation in North and East Syria (West Kurdistan). The event ended with govend (dance) and some music.
Flags and photos of Şehid Kendal Karaman, a Portuguese YPG internationalist who fell a martyr in Rojava, 2016, were well displayed during the event.
