Kurds and internationalists demonstrated against the genocidal attacks targeting Rojava in the town of Davos, in Switzerland’s canton of Graubünden, where the World Economic Forum is taking place. Hundreds of Kurds and internationalist revolutionaries took part in the protest held in front of the US House.
During the demonstration, banners reading “Stop the Massacre in Rojava” and “Defend Rojava” were displayed, while the crowd frequently chanted slogans such as “Bijî berxwedana Rojava” (“Long live the resistance of Rojava”), “Rojava Rojhilat e, Kurdistan yek welat e” (“Rojava and Rojhilat are Kurdistan, Kurdistan is one country”), “Terrorist Erdoğan,” and “Terrorist al-Jolani.” An extraordinary level of activity was observed in the center of Davos, and thousands of passersby showed their support for the protesters with victory signs and chants. The strong interest of members of the press also stood out.
In their statement delivered in English, the activists said that genocide is being carried out against the Kurdish people before the eyes of the entire world. They emphasized that the Kurdish people, who are continuing their heroic resistance against the dirty plans of international powers, will once again achieve victory by drawing lessons from the 2014 attacks on Kobanê. The statement also called on the international public to show sensitivity and take action.
