Turkish-backed militia groups affiliated with the Syrian Transitional Government gathered at Basil Station on the road between Girê Spî and Raqqa and launched an attack. SDF, YPG, and YPJ fighters repelled the attack and carried out an operation in response.
While five mercenaries were killed and seven others were wounded, a hedgehog-type armored vehicle and a large amount of ammunition were seized as a result of the operation.
