Footage from Khaled Fajr Hospital shows the extent of humanitarian tragedy unfolding in Aleppo

New footage from the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood of Aleppo shows the extent of the attacks on the Khaled Fajr Hospital. Dozens of wounded people, including many women, children, and elderly people, lie on the floor of the building, which has been hit by heavy artillery fire. Medical care has virtually collapsed.

Northern Aleppo under fire for the fifth consecutive day

Attacks on the predominantly Kurdish neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah by troops and militias of the so-called Syrian transitional government have now continued for the fifth consecutive day. The Khaled Fajr Hospital is one of the most severely affected facilities. The clinic has been repeatedly shelled with heavy weapons. Power outages, staff shortages, and a lack of medical supplies have dramatically exacerbated the situation.

Life-threatening situation for the wounded and personnel

Medical personnel on the ground are working under precarious conditions and in constant danger to their lives. Numerous injured people have not yet been treated, which, according to estimates from the region, significantly increases the risk of further deaths. The supply situation is considered critical.

The attacks are not limited to the hospital. Residential buildings, roads, and basic civilian infrastructure in Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah are also under heavy fire. The extent of the destruction points to a worsening humanitarian catastrophe.
