Attacks launched by mercenary groups affiliated with the Syrian Transitional Government and supported by the Turkish state on the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsood and Ashrafiyah on January 6 are continuing.
According to information shared by the Sheikh Maqsood and Ashrafiyah Internal Security Forces, mercenary groups are attempting to enter the neighborhoods using howitzers and mortars, tanks, missiles, drones, and various heavy weapons. However, the Internal Security Forces have harshly responded to the attacks and repelled them.
Mercenaries attempted to infiltrate neighborhoods in the early hours of the morning, but Internal Security Forces and the people harshly responded to the attacks and repelled them, forcing the attackers to flee.
At least two tanks were destroyed, seven drones were shot down, and numerous mercenaries were killed or wounded during attacks carried out on Kurdish and Syriac neighborhoods throughout the day.
Fighting and clashes continue in Kastilo, the Syriac neighborhood, Beni Zêd neighborhood and numerous other areas.
Having already suffered heavy losses, the mercenaries are randomly shelling civilian residential areas with heavy weapons.
