Internal Security Forces of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiah neighborhoods deny claims of ceasefire

The Internal Security Forces of Aleppo’s Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiah neighborhoods issued a statement denying claims of a “ceasefire.”

The statement said that ceasefire claims are false and part of a disinformation campaign aimed at misleading public opinion.

It added that these claims are intended to cover up the ongoing attacks by armed groups affiliated with the Syrian Interim Government on the Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafiah, and Bani Zaid neighborhoods.

The statement noted that all attempts to halt the fighting have failed due to the armed groups’ determination to continue their attacks, and added that drone strikes on the neighborhoods are ongoing and that preparations are underway for large-scale attacks in the coming hours.

In its statement, the Sheikh Maqsoud Internal Security Forces added that armed groups carried out four consecutive attacks using tanks and armored vehicles, and that the Internal Security Forces, together with civilians defending their homes, responded to the attacks.

The Internal Security Forces emphasized that the residents of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiah are committed to their homes and reject any form of forced displacement. They stressed that the will to resist is stronger than attacks, sieges, and threats of force, as confirmed by past difficult experiences.

The statement concluded with a warning that the imposition of new military realities and media disinformation would lead to serious consequences, for which the attacking parties would bear responsibility.
