The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have agreed with the Syrian transitional government to continue talks on possible military integration in an orderly manner. In a statement released late Sunday evening via the SDF’s Media and Communications Center, the alliance spoke of an “official dialogue process” that would continue until concrete results were achieved.
Yesterday, the SDF met with government representatives in Damascus for the first time in a long time. The delegation included QSD commander-in-chief Mazloum Abdi, as well as Sozdar Haci and Sipan Hemo from the General Command of the Syrian Democratic Forces. US Brigadier General Kevin J. Lambert from the international anti-ISIS coalition also took part in the meeting.
According to SDF information, the meeting once again focused on the topic of military integration. Both sides agreed to hold regular follow-up meetings in order to “continue pursuing the topic within a structured process,” it was reported. Further details on content or schedules were not initially published.
