The Free Women’s Movement (TJA) said in a written statement, “We do not give up our rights, our lives, or our freedom. With our anger, our rebellion, and our solidarity against inequality and injustice, we are raising our voices.”
The statement also said: “For equality, for justice, for freedom; to say peace now, we are coming together against femicide, women’s poverty, and gender inequality. We do not remain silent against violence against women. We do not abandon the Istanbul Convention. Law No. 6284 on the Protection of the Family and the Prevention of Violence Against Women must be effectively implemented as a safeguard for women’s lives. Against violence, impunity, and femicide, we call on all women to stand side by side, with all our differences. On January 10, we will gather in Ankara at Tandoğan Square for the large Ankara women’s rally. We do not give up hope or struggle. Long live women’s solidarity. Woman, life, freedom (Jin, jiyan, azadî).”
