DEM Party Co-Chairs: May the new year be a year of peace, democracy, and brotherhood for all of us

In their New Year’s message, DEM Party Co-Chairs Tülay Hatimoğulları and Tuncer Bakırhan expressed their wishes for peace and brotherhood.

The message on Wednesday said: “We are entering the new year with hope, together. The year we left behind was difficult; wars and injustices in our region have exhausted us all. But it also taught us a lot: we saw once again the power of solidarity, the value of holding on to each other, and the importance of believing in peace. Now we are looking ahead. The new year is a new beginning. We want it to be a year in which all people, both in Turkey and in the Middle East, can live in peace. This is not just a wish; it is a promise that we will work to achieve it.

We believe that there is no problem we cannot solve by talking, listening, and understanding each other. From the Kurdish question to labor issues, from women’s rights to the future of young people, the solution lies in working together. As the DEM Party, we will work with all our strength for a politics and a solution that leaves no one behind and embraces everyone. We will continue to stand for labor, equality, and justice because we know that true peace is only possible in a country where we are all equal and free.

May this new year be a year of peace, democracy, and brotherhood for all of us. Our hope is great, our determination is strong. We wish all our peoples a happy new year with our most sincere feelings. Better days are coming, and we will build them together.”
