At the year’s final press briefing, the Turkish Ministry of National Defense (MSB) presented the democratic and peaceful demands of North and East Syria as a threat.
The statement claimed that “the SDF continues to voice demands for decentralization and federalism and is not taking steps toward integration with the central authority. As we have emphasized before, the SDF’s stance is detrimental to Syria’s territorial integrity and stability.”
Making no mention of the attacks and crimes committed by the HTŞ regime brought to power in Damascus, the MSB encouraged Damascus government to attack North and East Syria.
The statement said, “We are continuing close cooperation with the Syrian government in line with the principle of ‘One State, One Army’ and are closely monitoring the integration process. If the Syrian government decides to take an initiative for unity and integrity, Turkey will support it.”
