Speaking at his party’s group meeting, MHP Chair Devlet Bahçeli commented on the process initiated by Leader Apo’s call on 27 February.
Bahçeli said, “Our sole wish is for everyone to act with a sense of responsibility. As we always say, everything is for Turkey.”
Saying that “the commission has now entered the final stage,” Bahçeli continued: “It is likely that the delegation to be sent to Imrali will soon be determined. The debates on going to İmralı must come to an end. There is no point in dragging feet on visiting Imrali. If no one is willing to participate in this visit, I will take three colleagues with me; I do not hesitate to go to Imrali, nor do I refrain from sitting at the table face-to-face. With courage and confidence, I will say what I have to say while looking my counterpart directly in the eye.”
