The Suwayda National Defense Forces issued a statement regarding the attacks carried out by the Syrian Transitional Government forces. The statement noted that the Transitional Government forces were continuing their assaults and attempting to seize the frontlines in the western part of Suwayda.
The statement said that on Saturday 15 November, Transitional Government forces launched a major attack with a large force on the area surrounding the civilian prison, resulting in damage to two civilian vehicles.
The statement added that, simultaneously with the attack near the prison, the towns of Nejran and Majdal, located west of the city, were also bombarded.
The National Defense Forces reported that several of their positions were attacked from the Mensura and Rima Hazir directions, stating that the purpose of these attacks was to break up the frontlines and open access routes into the region.
The National Defense Forces announced that they repelled attempts to enter the city of Suwayda and pushed back all attacks. They also emphasized that they would continue to protect the local population.
