In Istanbul’s Beyoğlu district, on Meclis-i Mebusan Street, the scaffolding on the minus-sixth floor collapsed during construction work on the M7 metro line next to the Kabataş Pier.
In the incident that occurred on Saturday evening, three of five workers involved managed to free themselves from the debris, while two workers were rescued by fire crews. One worker, however, lost his life.
The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) announced that it has launched an administrative investigation into the incident.
