Tens of thousands march in Cologne

The march in Cologne, organized by the campaign “Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, Political Solution to the Kurdish Question,” together with the TJK-E and KCDK-E, began with the participation of tens of thousands of people.

The march, held this year for the third time in Cologne, started as crowds gathered in the Deutzer Werft area. Participants set off with calls for ensuring the physical freedom of Leader Apo [Abdullah Öcalan], for achieving the “Democratic Society and Peace” process, and for reminding European states of their responsibility in resolving the Kurdish question.

The march along the banks of the Rhine River saw a large turnout of Kurds and their supporters. Tens of thousands began marching in processions led by women, followed by a group of artists.

A massive banner of Öcalan was carried during the march, along with another that read, “End isolation, torture, and lawlessness – Freedom for Leader Apo.” Participants frequently chanted slogans such as “Biji Serok Apo” (Long live Leader Apo), “Be Serok Jiyan Nabe” (There is no life without the Leader), and “Jin, Jiyan, Azadî” (Woman, Life, Freedom).
