The 5th Kurdish Cultural Festival, organized in memory of Martyr Sinan Dersim, will take place on September 21 in the city of Marseille.
Preparations for the festival that will be held in Parc de la Ravelle (La Rose), have reached the final stage. The festival organizing committee inspected the venue and reviewed final arrangements.
Calls for participation in the Kurdish Cultural Festival continue. Kurdish politicians, artists, activists, and religious scholars have invited people to the event through social media posts.
On behalf of the organizing committee, Mehmet Karayazı, Tev-Çand member Renas Demhat, and Heval Arzu of the Arin Mirkan Women’s Assembly emphasized the importance of the festival for Kurds living in France.
DEM Party MP for Riha (Urfa) Ömer Öcalan, artists Ruken Yılmaz and Koma Rojhilat, the Tev-Çand choir, religious scholars Sheikh Murşîd Xeznewî, Mele Şevket, Mele Abdurrahman, Yılmaz Serhad (co-chair of FKDK-BF), and Veysel Sarıkaş (co-chair of the Marseille People’s Assembly) all issued video messages on social media calling for participation.
The Sinan Dersim Kurdish Cultural Festival is regarded as an important event for the Kurdish diaspora in preserving cultural values and strengthening the spirit of solidarity.
The organizing committee announced that they expect tens of thousands of participants from different cities across Framce.
