Vedat Çem Erkmen buried under heavy police presence

Vedat Çem Erkmen died in Tekirdağ No. 2 F Type Prison. He was allowed to be buried in Pazarcix (Dağpınar), in Digor province of Kars, on condition that only family members would attend the funeral.

Erkmen was brought from Istanbul to Dağpınar, in Kars in the early hours of the morning, accompanied by a heavy police presence.

While all entrances and exits to the town were closed off by police and soldiers, the coffin was taken to the town cemetery under police control after the religious duties were fulfilled.

While only family members were allowed to enter the cemetery, it was learned that police and soldiers stayed in the town after the burial ceremony.
