Trevor Rayne: Öcalan is the key to a peaceful solution

Trevor Rayne from the Revolutionary Communist Group told journalist Erem Kansoy that “Öcalan is the key to a peaceful solution.”

Trevor Rayne has written on the Kurdish people’s struggles since the 1980s and has been on the steering committee of Peace in Kurdistan since its foundation in 1994.

The RCG’s publications and paper Fight Racism! Fight Imperialism! have stressed the importance of the Kurdish liberation struggle for any progress in the Middle East. They have consistently supported the Palestinian struggle, the movement in Venezuela and the gains of the Cuban revolution.

Answering journalist Erem Kansoy’s questions on the Europe Agenda programme, Rayne highlighted the key role that Abdullah Öcalan must play for there to be peace in the region, stressing that Öcalan should be freed immediately.
