Hesekê Water Directorate says water problems in Hesekê greatly reduced

The project of transporting the Euphrates water to Hesekê has been completed. With the activation of the 47th station, the drinking water problem in Hesekê will be solved to a large extent. According to Silêman Xelîl, one of the 47th station managers, the water reached Eziziye station in Hesekê. According to the project, the water will first reach the Siwer and Elwe stations and then the 47th station. From here, water will be supplied to Hesekê.

Xelîl told ANHA: “The project of transporting the Euphrates water to Hesekê has been completed. The water reached the station in 3 days. While Hesekê was about to be supplied with water, a minor setback occurred. We had to cut off the water to fix the problem. But now we have reactivated the flux of water. Within the scope of the project, 15 thousand cubic meters of water per day will be provided to Hesekê. This amount means 20 percent of the city’s water needs.”

Husam El Ali, co-chair of the Southern District Council, also announced that they had resolved the problems that occurred with the contribution of local councils and municipalities in 10 days.
