No Border Assembly: “Stop deportations to Turkey”

A Kurdish family has been in deportation custody in Berlin-Schönefeld for three weeks. Although they fled Turkey after torture and without a perspective on life, their asylum application was rejected and now Germany wants to deport them on Friday, reported the No Border Assembly and called for solidarity:

“Let’s fight together against this deportation and demand the immediate release of the family from the deportation prison! Demonstrate with us this Wednesday in front of the deportation detention center!”

The deportation is planned for Friday, August 13, 2021 with Ryanair flight FR 6925 at 06:00 from BER Airport to Odessa/Ukraine, accompanied by nine police officers and a doctor, assuming that deportation back to Turkey will take place from Ukraine.

The family hopes for public support. One person is currently on hunger strike in prison and another person attempted suicide in response to the threat of deportation. Let’s all stand with them! No deportations to Turkey! Close all deportation prisons! Right to stay for the family!”

Meeting point is Wednesday, August 11, at 5 p.m. in front of the Schönefeld deportation detention center (S-Bahn station BER Terminal 5).
