Activists in Montpellier protest Turkish attacks on Maxmur Camp and Metina

DKTM and Delal Amed Women’s Commune organised a march in Montpellier to protest the attacks carried out by the Turkish army in Maxmur and Metina, in South Kurdistan.

During the march, slogans such as “Murderer Erdogan”, “Terrorist Turkey”, “Freedom for Öcalan” and “Bijî berxwedana guerrilla” were chanted.
Speaking at Comedie Square, DKTM co-chair Cevat Güneş said: “We will resist this barbaric Turkish regime until the end. We salute the historical resistance of the guerrilla. The KDP is trying to legitimize the invading Turkish state to the international community. We condemn the attitude of the KDP. Enough of this betrayal and cooperation with the enemy.”

Güneş added: “We call on all Kurdish people to oppose the attitude of the KDP. The freedom of Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan is the freedom of the people of Kurdistan. Our actions will continue uninterruptedly until we and the Kurdish people’s leader, Abdullah Öcalan, are free.”
Speaking on behalf of the collective of solidarity with the Kurdish people, Belfin said: “The Kurdish people fought for all of us. We state that the PKK should be removed from the terrorist list. We are calling for everyone to take a stand against the Turkish state.”
