Since the US-Israeli attacks on Iran at the end of February plunged the Middle East into a new war, there have been numerous drone and rocket attacks by the Iranian regime and pro-Iranian militias against opposition parties from Rojhilat that maintain camps in South Kurdistan. At least 20 people have been killed and dozens more injured in these attacks.
In a statement addressing the public, countries, international organizations and human rights organizations, the Alliance of Iranian Kurdistan Political Parties pointed out that Iran has increased its attacks against Rojhilati parties in the Kurdistan Region in order to cover up its political, military and strategic ideological defeats.
The statement emphasized that the attacks are a sign of Iran’s weakness and fragility in the face of regional changes, and presented the Alliance’s view on the current situation under three headings;
“1- The Rojhilatê Kurdistan Alliance of Political Parties states that this conflict and chaos is not a war between Iranian society and the countries of the world, but rather a war of the dictatorial Islamic Republic regime that has taken all the people of Iran hostage. This war is the result of decades of extreme policies, interference in the internal affairs of other countries, and support for terrorism. This policy has both dragged Iran into economic collapse and brought the Islamic Republic to the stage of collapse.
2- Since the beginning of the war, the Islamic Republic has targeted the sovereignty of Iraqi territory and the Kurdistan Region more than 700 times. During this process, more than 150 direct attacks were carried out on camps where political refugees from Rojhilatê Kurdistan live. In these attacks, 21 people have so far been killed, including 10 refugees who are members of the Rojhilatê Kurdistan Alliance of Political Parties. While condemning these attacks, we express our full support for the stability of the Kurdistan Region and remind that targeting consulates, political camps and civilian settlements constitutes a violation of the Geneva Convention and a war crime. The Rojhilatê Kurdistan Alliance of Political Parties calls on all countries, the United Nations and international organizations to take a stand against the attacks of the Islamic Republic.
3- We call on all citizens abroad, in line with their national responsibilities, to unite and take to the streets, and to be the voice of our national struggle and resistance in front of country consulates and decision-making centers. The Rojhilatê Kurdistan Alliance of Political Parties welcomes all forms of cooperation from Kurdish parties, civil society organizations, volunteers, and supporters of freedom and justice to support the Kurdish cause in Rojhilatê Kurdistan and to expose the crimes of the Islamic Republic.”
The statement concluded; “We once again declare that these attacks will not break our will; on the contrary, they strengthen our belief in the struggle we are carrying out to overthrow this regime and to liberate Kurdistan.”
