An interim decision has been announced in the case filed against the Geothermal Energy Plant (JES) project planned within the borders of Xwarik village in Varto (Gimgim).
Following the approval obtained from the Muş Governorate Provincial Commission for the project carried out by the US-based company IGNIS H2 Energy Production Inc., drilling works in the region were planned to begin.
In response, the Varto Ecology Platform and surrounding villages filed a lawsuit requesting the suspension of the project, drawing attention to its environmental impacts.
After reviewing the case file, the Bingöl Administrative Court requested that additional documents regarding the project and the structure of the land be submitted to the file.
The court gave the defendant administration 10 days to present its defense and submit the requested information and documents.
The ruling also stated that the request to suspend the project would be evaluated after these documents are submitted.
The court emphasized that if the necessary information and documents are not submitted completely within the given period, a decision will be made based on the existing case file.
