The Alliance of Iranian Kurdistan Political Parties issued a statement regarding the continued attacks by Iranian state forces on camps in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq) which claimed the lives of three Peshmerga fighters and left two others wounded on Friday.
The statement released by the Alliance on Saturday reads as follows:
“The terrorist regime of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in order to conceal the political, military, strategic, and ideological defeats it suffered during the 39-day war with the United States and Israel, is continuously carrying out attacks against the headquarters and bases of parties in Rojhilatê Kurdistan, as well as camps in the Kurdistan Region where the families of cadres and Peshmerga are staying. Despite the ceasefire, the attacks continue.
In the most recent attack carried out with missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles on April 17, 2026, civilian camps and headquarters of the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (PDK-I) were targeted. As a result of these attacks, three Peshmerga and freedom fighters of the party—Shahin Azarberzin, Neda Miri, and Samira Elahyari—were killed, and two Peshmerga fighters were injured.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has continued its attacks against the headquarters, bases, and residential areas of the families of political parties from Rojhilatê (Eastern) Kurdistan, claiming the lives of 11 people.
The Alliance of Iranian Kurdistan Political Parties strongly condemns this crime and all terrorist attacks by the Islamic Republic against fighters from Rojhilat, as well as the killing of 10 children of fighters from the alliance member parties.”
The Alliance made the following appeal:
1- We call on the Iraqi government to take a serious stance to protect the lives of political refugees and to prevent the recurrence of these crimes, and to take practical, legal, and transparent steps. Protecting the sovereignty of the region and the lives of its residents is a constitutional duty, especially given the violation of the security agreement between the two countries by the Islamic Republic of Iran.
2- We strongly condemn the United Nations (UN) mission in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. We believe that their silence and inaction in the face of these war crimes, and their neglect of humanitarian responsibilities, open the door to further aggression and terrorism by the Tehran regime. Therefore, we demand that these attacks be recognized as war crimes and international terrorism, documented, and that a stance be taken against them.
3- We strongly condemn the policy of reconciliation and trade with the Islamic Republic and emphasize that this dictatorial regime has taken the security and stability of the entire world hostage. It has always used negotiations and agreements with the international community to buy time and advance its objectives. Therefore, the time has come for the United Nations Security Council to act swiftly and for the international community to reach an agreement with Tehran and no longer allow the regime to continue its acts of terror and killings.
4- We call on all Kurds living abroad to take to the streets with strong plans and programs, to organize peaceful activities and marches, and to gather in front of the regime’s embassies, consulates, and decision-making centers to raise the voice of our people.
The Political Alliance concluded its statement as follows: “We once again assure our friends and enemies that these attacks and the sacrifices of our forces will not shake our will; on the contrary, they further strengthen our belief in the legitimacy of the struggle for the liberation of Kurdistan and the overthrow of this regime, as well as our determination to continue the struggle.
Martyrs are immortal, and victory for freedom.”
