Rojhilat Alliance: Iran’s attacks will not weaken the will of the Kurdish people

The Alliance of Iranian Kurdistan Political Parties released a statement concerning the recent attacks carried out by the Iranian regime against the Kurdistan Region despite an existing ceasefire.

The alliance said that the attacks conducted during the ceasefire reveal the Islamic Republic of Iran’s approach to peace and political solutions, stating: “Violence and terror are tools for the regime to sustain its existence.”

The statement noted that Iran violated the sovereignty of Southern Kurdistan using kamikaze drones and targeted political refugee camps in Rojhilat (Eastern Kurdistan), denouncing these attacks as clear violations of international law and the Geneva Conventions.

Iran’s latest attacks in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq targeted the Azadi Camp of the Democratic Party and the Surdash Camp of the Toilers’ Party, leaving two peshmerga fighters injured, and a female peshmerga affiliated with the Toilers’ Party, Xezal Mulan, dead.

The alliance appealed to the Iraqi Federal Government, the United States, and the United Nations, saying that condemning the attacks alone is not sufficient and that concrete steps must be taken to stop them. It emphasized that these attacks violate the sovereignty of both Iraq and the wider region.

The statement also underlined that these attacks will not weaken the will of the Kurdish people, adding: “Pressure and attacks will further strengthen the unity of Kurdish political forces and the people.”

The alliance concluded its statement by stressing: “We reiterate our promise to the martyrs of the freedom struggle. Our struggle will continue until the Islamic Republic regime is overthrown and our people achieve their national rights.”
