The Ministry of Peshmerga stated that another peshmerga fighter has lost his life as a result of attacks by the Iranian regime. According to a statement on Tuesday, Weysî Axir Seîd Şêrwanî, a member of the 5th Infantry Brigade under the 1st Regional Command of the Ministry, was wounded in a missile attack carried out by the Islamic Republic of Iran targeting peshmerga forces on the Soran border two weeks ago.
The statement said that Şêrwanî had been receiving treatment in hospitals in Hewlêr (Erbil) for 15 days but succumbed to his severe injuries.
The Ministry extended its condolences to the family of the fallen fighter and to the people of Kurdistan, and once again condemned the attacks targeting peshmerga forces and civilians in the Kurdistan Region.
