Gunshots were heard in front of the building that houses the Israeli Consulate in the Beşiktaş district of Istanbul on Tuesday.
According to a statement by the Istanbul Police Department, the three attackers were neutralized.
One of the attackers was killed and two others injured, according to the governor’s statement on the incident. Two of the attackers, all of whom are Turkish citizens, are reported to be brothers.
On the other hand, two police officers were injured during the armed confrontation.
The Minister of Justice, Akın Gürlek, announced that three prosecutors have been assigned to investigate the incident.
