Çiya Kobanê, also known as Çiya Firat, whose real name is Hecî Mihemed Nebo, assumed his new position according to a statement released by the SDF (Syrian Democratic Forces) Press Center on Friday in Heseke.
The appointment, which became known earlier in the week, is part of the implementation of the January 29 agreement between the Autonomous Administration and the transitional government in Damascus, aimed at reorganizing military and administrative structures. Within this framework, the integration of the Syrian Democratic Forces into Syria’s defense structure is also being advanced.
According to the SDF, this step is intended to strengthen coordination in the defense field and enhance military effectiveness in the face of ongoing security threats. At the same time, the alliance emphasized that the protection of civilians and the stability of the region remain central to its policy.
