In the early morning hours, police conducted raids on numerous homes in the Tetwan (Tatvan) and Xelat (Ahlat) districts of Bitlis.
It was reported that 25 people whose homes were raided were detained as part of an investigation launched by the Bitlis Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office on the allegation of “making propaganda for an organization.”
The 25 individuals were reportedly detained for participating in Newroz celebrations.
It was emphasized that during the house raids, the police subjected the detainees and their family members to torture.
