At least six peshmerga fighters were killed and 45 others injured as a base of the 7th Battalion of the 80th Unit of the Peshmerga forces was attacked by Iran-affiliated militias in the morning. The target of the attack with rockets and armed drones was a military site in the Xelîfan area within the Soran district.
Mazloum Abdi, the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), stated that they share the grief of the Kurdish people and the Peshmerga forces in the Kurdistan Region, expressing deep sorrow over the martyrdom of the fallen peshmerga fighters.
In his message, Abdi offered condolences to Masoud Barzani and all officials in the Kurdistan Region, as well as to the families of the martyrs, and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
Emphasizing that the grief of the Kurdish people is shared, Abdi vowed that solidarity will be strengthened.
