In the local elections held in France, the Kurdish community achieved significant success. A total of 34 Kurdish candidates were elected to municipal councils in different cities across the country, reaching a notable level of representation.
The results, particularly in many cities including Île-de-France and Paris, showed that the Kurdish community has strengthened its presence in democratic politics. Among those elected were municipal council members, opposition representatives, and deputy mayors.
The Kurdish Democratic Council of France (CDK-F) congratulated all the elected candidates in a statement regarding the election results. The statement said: “The organized strength of the Kurdish people has been reflected at the ballot box. We congratulate all our elected representatives and wish their success to be beneficial for our people.”
The CDK-F emphasized that this achievement is the result of many years of organizational work and calls for democratic participation.
The statement also pointed to the coming period, noting that efforts will be increased to further strengthen the political representation of the Kurdish community. “Our work will continue with determination so that the Kurdish people are more organized, more effective, and more visible in every sphere where they are present,” the statement said.
