The Basque trade union LAB sent a message of solidarity to Kurds on Newroz day. The statement said: “From LAB, we would like to express our solidarity with the Kurdish people on the celebration of Newroz, a date that represents much more than the beginning of spring. Newroz is a symbol of resistance, of collective struggle, and of freedom achieved through enormous sacrifices.”
The statement added: “We share the slogan of freedom and democratic unity that fills the streets today, as well as the hope that this call will finally open the doors of Imralı. Because peace, justice, and the democratic resolution of conflicts are essential paths to building a dignified future.”
The statement continued: “We reaffirm our commitment to all peoples who struggle for their recognition, their rights, and their freedom. Newroz reminds us that, even in the most difficult moments, resistance lays the foundations for a new life, based on brotherhood, dignity, and coexistence among peoples.
