Amed Newroz will be celebrated at Newroz Square under the slogan “Newroz of Freedom and Democracy / Newroza Azadî û Yekîtiya Demokratîk.”
It was reported that nearly 400 national and international media representatives have been accredited for Newroz, for which technical preparations were completed days in advance.
According to the statement: “In addition to representatives from political parties, human rights organizations, civil society groups, trade unions, professional organizations, Alevi institutions, and women’s organizations, guests from countries such as France, Germany, Sweden, Catalonia, Egypt, and India, as well as high-level officials from the Kurdistan Regional Government and political parties, will attend as invitees.
In the protocol section, which is expected to be limited in number, only invited guests and visitors from the city and abroad will be included, unlike previous years. It is also expected that many people from regional provinces and western cities will travel to Amed for Newroz.”
The statement continued: “The Newroz Organizing Committee has assigned 600 people to ensure security in the area, while DEM Party MPs, Party Assembly members, and lawyers will also be present at each entrance.
At the Newroz celebration, where entry will begin at 10:00 a.m., Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan, Azadî Party Chair Ayetullah Aşitî, TJA activist Ayla Akat Ata, Çetin Arkaş, and Leyla Zana will deliver speeches; messages from political prisoners, Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) leader Bafil Talabani, and Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani will be read. It is also expected that Abdullah Öcalan’s message will be read in both Turkish and Kurdish.”
Additionally, the statement underlined that “DEM Party Imralı Delegation member Sırrı Süreyya Önder will be commemorated with a short video presentation.
At the celebration in Amed, Dilan Top and Erkan Top, Alend Hazim, Agirê Jiyan, and Zinar Sozdar will perform on stage.”
