KJAR calls for building the future in its Newroz message

The East (Rojhilat) Kurdistan Free Women’s Community (KJAR) published a message on the occasion of Newroz. The message said that Newroz is one of the most important holidays of the peoples of Mesopotamia and that over the years it has become a shared value and culture. It also emphasized that at a time when the Middle East is in the midst of wars and conflicts, Newroz represents a day when fronts of resistance are formed against all forms of oppression and ruling powers.

The message also stated the following: “On the other hand, due to the unifying character of Newroz, it is also an opportunity to ensure a democratic and diverse social life in Iran. The path to solving social problems also lies in the unity of peoples. For the peoples of the Middle East, the need for unity is also a historical necessity. Building a society based on democratic standards is more urgent than ever.”

The statement noted that Newroz 2776 heralds the rise of people’s struggle in Iran under the leadership of women and continued as follows: “Women have always played an important role in sustaining the culture of Newroz. Their participation in Newroz has also been a symbol of resistance and freedom. The connection that Newroz establishes with ‘Jin Jiyan Azadî’ is based on women’s freedom and a free life. It can also be an opportunity for advancing the struggle for women’s freedom in Iran and strengthening unity. KJAR once again calls on women in Iran to build the future of a free and democratic Iran by leading in the fields of struggle and by fueling the fire of the ‘Newroz of Freedom.’”
