Mahmud Xelil, Deputy Commander of the Internal Security Forces of Heseke, announced that a group of SDF fighters captured by groups affiliated with the Syrian transitional government will be released.
Officials reported that more than 300 prisoners will be officially released in the El Sebax Junction area today.
While the Internal Security Forces shared the list of the 300 prisoners to be released, families are waiting to reunite with their beloved ones.
It is reported that the process is being carried out mutually, and that the SDF has also released 300 detainees affiliated with the Syrian transitional government under the same framework.
A statement by the Internal Security Forces of the Jazira Region said that the prisoner exchange is being conducted as part of the January 29 agreement to strengthen civil peace and stability in the region.
The exchange of prisoners, which was set to take place at 1 p.m. local time, has been postponed until evening due to technical reasons.
Siyamend Afrin, the commander of the Internal Security Forces, confirmed that the procedures are underway but require more time due to some technical issues related to the prisoners arriving in Heseke.
