The Serekaniye Displaced Persons Committee issued an urgent appeal to international and local humanitarian organizations and all relevant parties to provide immediate humanitarian assistance to the Washokani and Serekaniye camps in the Cizire region, after heavy rain, flooding, and harsh weather conditions caused significant damage.
Due to the difficult conditions created by war and conflict, as well as the lack of food and health services, children, the elderly, and especially the sick are facing great hardship.
The Syrian Democratic Council (MSD) released a statement calling on all relevant parties to take urgent action to ensure adequate support for forcibly displaced people in the camps in Hesekê. The statement emphasized that the Interim Government must fulfill its obligations to ensure the safe return of forcibly displaced people to their towns and villages in accordance with international humanitarian standards.
The MSD also stressed that humanitarian aid must continue to be sent to Syrians in the camps and that efforts must be made to end the suffering of displaced people and refugees across Syria and to provide them with a dignified life.
Both camps host thousands of citizens who were forcibly displaced from the city of Serekaniye. Due to the heavy rainfall, many of the tents have been damaged, further increasing the suffering of the residents.
