PJAK pays tribute to Salih Muslim, calling him “a unique patriot and a devoted fighter”

The Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) released a message of condolence for Salih Muslim, a member of the Co-Presidential Council of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), who died of kidney failure on Thursday.

PJAK stated that they received the news of Salih Muslim’s passing with great sorrow and described his death as a major loss for all four parts of Kurdistan.

The statement emphasized that Salih Muslim was among the leading figures who never accepted defeat or despair in the face of the enemies of the Kurdish people, and that he always stood with his people even during the most intense attacks by the enemy.

PJAK pointed out that Salih Muslim, one of the fundamental pillars of the Kurdish renaissance, played an important role in the achievements of the Rojava revolution. “Throughout the attacks of the Baath regime and ISIS, he always stood with his people. With his resilient character, he was a well-known politician who knew how to step forward on the path of freedom with honor and pride. He was a father of a martyr who carried patriotism to the peak of revolution and sacrifice. Kurdish resistance fighters took him as an example and joined the ranks of struggle with respect for his leadership.”

The statement continued: “Comrade Muslim showed everyone who seeks freedom—like the oppressed Kurdish people—what kind of consciousness, character, and spirit of devotion is required to walk on the path of freedom. Undoubtedly, his name will live forever in the history and memory of our people. Every free Kurd can reach the highest level of patriotism and goodness by following his path of struggle. There is no doubt that Kurdistan needs his way of thinking and personalities like him in order to break free from the chains of oppression.”

PJAK extended their condolences to the entire Kurdish people, the peoples of Rojava and Syria, and the families of the martyrs.

The statement concluded: “Without a doubt, he was a unique patriot and a devoted fighter who embodied the ideas of Leader Apo (Abdullah Öcalan) and our people. He devoted his entire life to this path. We will continue our commitment to his dreams for the freedom of our people, which he always valued. His precious memory will remain unforgettable in our history.”
