A group of prisoners released under the January 29 Agreement between the SDF and the Syrian Interim Government arrived in Hesekê. The prisoners’ families and the people of Hesekê welcomed the group at the Panorama Junction at the entrance of the city.
During the reception, Hesekê Governor Nureddin Ahmed, several prominent figures from the region, and leading members of the city were also present.
The prisoners were released as part of the implementation of the articles of the agreement between the SDF and the Syrian interim government. The people of the city stated that they expect all prisoners to be released and reunited with their families in the coming period.
It was reported that the number of released prisoners was 100 and that they were from Raqqa, Deir ez-Zor, Kobanê, and Qamishlo.
