Öcalan’s declaration on March 8 to be read out at rallies

Pervin Buldan, a member of the Imrali Delegation, announced in a special program on JIN TV that Abdullah Öcalan will send a message on the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8. Buldan said that the declaration, which has the nature of a roadmap, will be read out at rallies.

Buldan stated: “As a delegation, we visited the Minister of Interior and the other is the Minister of Justice recently. Both ministers have duties and responsibilities related to the process. With the Minister of Justice, we discussed the law that will be introduced. Both they and we are making preparations. We decided to come together and consult before it reaches the Justice Commission. We stated that we should meet again after the Eid and consult on the preparations before the law is introduced. They said they view this course positively. After Eid, the law will be submitted to the commission, and a report will be prepared there. It is likely that the law will be presented to the General Assembly by the end of April or the beginning of May. In a way, this issue has taken a concrete form.”

Buldan continued: “We discussed the trustee issue with the Minister of Interior. We conveyed our expectations regarding the withdrawal of the appointed trustees and the restoration of the will of the people. Of course, this is not a decision that a single minister can make, but a decision of the political authority. So, we reminded them of their responsibilities and duties. We also shared with the public the content of the meetings with both ministers and conveyed our expectations and views.”

Buldan added: “We last met with Öcalan on February 16. During that meeting, we wanted to receive his views regarding March 8, but he said he was in a longer preparation process and that he was preparing a declaration that would serve as a roadmap. He said he would deliver it before March 8. We expect this declaration to reach us within two days so that it can be read out at the rallies. We know that Öcalan is working very intensively on the women’s issue. In our meetings, he expressed his views and suggestions regarding the struggle of women for equality and freedom, how to stand against domination over women, and how to respond to femicides. We expect this declaration to serve as a roadmap. As soon as it reaches us, we will read this message out at rallies and in public squares. Öcalan wishes a happy March 8 to all women in the world. With this declaration he will deliver important messages.”
