Attack against Hashd al-Shaabi positions in Iraq kills two

An attack was carried out on Hashd al-Shaabi positions in the Jurf al-Sakhar area of Babil, Iraq.

While it remains unclear which country or party carried out the attack, the Iraqi Security Media Cell confirmed the attack, which came shortly after the launch of US–Israel attacks on Iran this morning.

The statement on Saturday said that airstrikes targeting Hashd al-Shaabi bases in the Jurf al-Sakhar area were carried out at11:50, resulting in the deaths of two Hashd al-Shaabi members and the injury of three others.

The Jurf al-Sakhar area in the city of Babil was designated a military zone in 2014, and residents have been prevented from returning to their homes in the area.
