As part of diplomatic efforts aimed at strengthening dialogue with European institutions, Ilham Ehmed, Co-Chair of the Democratic Autonomous Administration’s Department of Foreign Relations, and Rohilat Efrîn, General Command Member of the Women’s Defense Units (YPJ), held two separate meetings at the European Parliament (EP): one with Hannah Neumann, Coordinator of the Greens in the Committee on Foreign Affairs, and another with Michael Gahler, the European People’s Party representative on the same committee.
In both meetings, the parties discussed developments in the region and emphasized the importance of establishing an active international monitoring mechanism to oversee the integration process between the SDF and the Transitional Government, in a manner that guarantees the political, cultural, and civil rights of the Kurdish people and prevents any violations against other components. They also stressed the need to strengthen the tools for achieving a political solution.
